1964-1968-ig főiskolás diák voltam az akkori NDK-ban. Ott akkor olcsók voltak a fotótechnikai eszközök és az ösztöndíjból is be tudtam rendezkedni a fényképezésre és nagyon érdekelt is. Volt is olyan tantárgyunk, hogy Fototechnik. Nem emlékszem már pontosan, hogy hol bukkantam rá a Meine Technik, meine Bilder c. könyvre, de lehet, hogy az iskola könyvtárában. Elolvastam és nagyon tetszett az ellenfény felvételekkel kapcsolatos technikája és annak logikus magyarázata. Ezután el kezdtem én is utánozni a technikát és úgy gondolom, hogy valamelyest sikerült is elsajátítanom. Az akkori fénykép albumomban nyitottam is egy olyan fejezetet, hogy "Gegenlicht". Hálából a tanításáért írtam is az NDK-s időszakomban egy köszönő levelet a professzor úrnak a szép tanulságos és követendő munkájáért. Nem válaszolt, de azt sem tudom, hogy honnan volt meg a (talán) budapesti címe. A könyvvel való találkozásom csak a véletlennek köszönhető, de nagyon örülök neki, hogy a kezembe került, szellemileg gazdagodtam vele.

A Meine Technk-nek több kiadása volt 1945-1957 között. Ezekről bibliográfiákban és D.-ről szóló monografikus életrajzomban lehet tájékozódni. A Lichtkontraste... kiadási éveként 1937-et szoktunk megadni, bár 1936 Karácsonyára már elkészült. A "DUTO"val kapcsolatban D és Tóth külön-külön jelentettek be szabadalmat. Közös sz. nem volt.
